Work experience...

Hmm so work experience is nearing and I am still on the hunt for a work placement!...But I'm thinking I want to try going somewhere really amazing in the summer...which will give me longer to find a placement... anyway I'll keep you updated on this

recent lacking of blog updates...

Ok so for some reason I thought we didn't have to write in our blogs anymore...haha er think I'm wrong in thinking that :)

Sooo anyway catching up on the past few weeks:
Basically been busybusybusy trying to finish our garments for deadlines (which by the way is in ONE DAY....ekkk) HOWEVER I kinda feel like I'm ready...minus a few little things that need finishing. From previous projects I have definatly learned not to leave loads of work till last min, so I don't feel too stressed out.

I'm quite excited to hand everything in and see what grade I get as I feel I have worked really hard...but guess I'll just have to wait and see :)

Rough basic CV...

Personal
8:30am...half an hour to get to nursery and I'm still deciding what to wear. A fairy skirt?, wow with the jelly shoes? I can hear my mum shouting and I know I'm not allowed to wear the high, sparkly and fantastic shoes to school...but hopefully she won't notice. Since then I knew that I wanted to be part of the fashion industry coupled with the fact I'd always loved art. From there I have started studying FdA fashion design at the Arts university college Bournemouth.

New york presentation...

Again this was from a while back but none the less here it is:

Overall the presentation went reasonably well.. although I feel next time I need to speak up and speak more slowly. I also found because I was nervous I kept skipping bits out, so I need to work on this!!!

Old work newly found again....

I had TOTALLY forgotten about this dress I made back at college (the image isn't good quality but still) I really enjoyed making the dress and the theme that I was putting across was 'rave wear' I would like to maybe make some more dresses or other garments in the same style maybe in the second year!

Lectra results...

We got our results a while ago but I forgot to update you fellow bloggers about this so :)

I was really pleased with my result! I got 62, which is slightly higher then my previous pattern cutting/construction grade of 60, So shows that I am gradually improving!!! which is a plus! The tutors mentioned that it would have been beneficial to have added more notes and to keep practising at illustrator to improve my technical drawings. So with this in mind for my next projects I should hopefully once again get a higher grade!

OH and also....

I forgot to mention we have now finished our 'Buying and Merchandising' lectures. I found the past 6 or so weeks very insightful, if a little confusing but I feel now I am much more clued up on everything from buying the clothes for each season to shipping them out to shops. I also think now whenever I look round clothing shops I'm constantly looking at what ranges they have, how high quality the clothing is and mostly the way the shops are laid out. Even though I have enjoyed learning more about the industry I feel the past 6 weeks have made me realise that I want to aim to be more in the designing and making area of fashion.
